This pre shave gave me a closer, smoother, more moisturizing, and less irritating shave than the Castle Forbes shaving cream alone, or the Proraso cream used with its pre shave. A few drops, which have the consistency of ketchup, are placed in the palm of a hand, the two palms are rubbed together and then rubbed on a wet face. The face being wet allows a very small quantity of this expensive product to spread well and do its work. I apply this before every pass of a 4-pass daily shave, and I think a bottle can easily last a few months. Four stars for price, scent, difficulty in pouring out of the bottle, and less water-soluble than claimed (residue on my hands requires soap to remove). Six stars for shave. Average 5 stars!
