Product Description
The Edwin Jagger Bulbous Lined is a magnificent double-edge safety razor. Constructed from solid brass, hand-polished and triple-plated with copper, nickel and blue-white chrome. Edwin Jagger, Europe's leading manufacturer of finest hand-made shaving equipment, has combined modern manufacturing technology and traditional Sheffield hand-skills to produce the elegant Bulbous Lined Range.
The decorative line pattern further accentuates the handle shape and adds wet grip. This contemporary styled, traditional safety razor is impressively weighty and offers a simple but effective, single cutting action similar to that of open-bladed cut-throat razors.
Many of our customers have found that purchasing a razor blade sampler with their first DE razor offers them the opportunity to find the suitable blade for their skin type, style of shaving and razor type, before making a purchase of a large quantity of blades.

This is a fabulous razor with beautiful craftsmanship! The razor's head with its smooth finish and angle really glides effortlessly on your face helping removes any guesswork as to the proper angle you should approach your face. I used Derby DE blades during its first use with a good quality shaving soap (I recommend Edwin Jagger or Taylor of Bond Street) and the shave was amazingly close. I found the razor to be beautifully finished, extremely well balanced and nicely weighted. The bulbous handle with its ridged surface gave excellent grip, and this combined with its weight made shaving smooth and effortless. I am thoroughly impressed with this razor, and its quality will unquestionably give me a lifetime of superlative shaving. Marvelous product with my highest recommendations!

It's a luxury razor, but it's also amazing bit of craftsmanship. It doesn't have springs that will wear out. It's not adjustable (you'll settle on one setting anyway), so pick your favorite blade for best results. It shaves with such ease, even a first-timer won't go wrong. As the Fendrihan description notes, this razor is constructed from solid brass, hand-polished and triple-plated with copper, nickel and blue-white chrome, and it shows -- no other brand of razor comes close to Edwin Jagger's finishes. The entire razor is "blue chrome" process that is the same used by Rolls Royce that's very distinctive when compared to normal chrome. The line pattern on the handle provides enough tactile friction to prevent wet slippage. It's a beautiful safety razor that's impressively weighty (4.2 oz./114g on my digital scale), with nice balance. The simple cutting action is similar to that of an open bladed straight razor but with a safety straight bar to prevent nicks and cuts. I don't suffer from the razor burn and post-shave pimples I had with my latest 5-blade off-the-shelf razor. This Bulbous Lined razor is the one against which you will measure every other razor you'll buy.
