Beautiful finish, nice heft. The overall impression is of the first quality. Delivers a very smooth shave, no harder to use than my weishi but the added aggressiveness gives a MUCH better shave.

Great safety razor for an amazing price! I use this whenever I'm in too much of a rush for straight razor shaving and I'm always pleased with the fairly close, extremely comfortable shave.

I recently purchased this razor so my experience is somewhat limited. I have to say...this razor is awesome! It is smooth, easy to handle and precise. I have had no nicks or ingrown hairs from using it. I use Black Feather blades. The razor cut through my beard with no hesitation or noise whatsoever. I had a perfectly close shave with no irritation or burn. I highly recommend this razor!

I started straight razor shaving in November 2009 and bought this double-edge razor to have another option for when I travel or just need a slightly quicker shave. First of all, I like the quality look at feel of this razor. It has a decent amount of weight to a feels like it is solidly constructed. I find it hard to believe that I can get such a nice razor at this reasonable price and it doesn’t have to be made in the third world country. Second, I get a nice, easy, nick free shave from this razor. Keep in mind my normal shaves are a straight razor…but I don’t find this razor to be aggressive at all; it seems very gentle. The blades I have tried so far are just cheap Exact (Loblaws brand) from my grocery store.

As I've used this razor a little more and with different blades, I can say that this is the absolutely BEST razor I have used so far. I've been using a Merkur 33C on and off thr fifteen years with Personna blades, but this Edwin Jagger beats it flat out for smoothness. I get ultra-close shaves with two passes (with and against the grain with lather up in between), no razor burn, irritation, bumps, nicks whatsoever. Balance is much better than Merkur 33C, and plating quality is unmatched. A truly wonderful shaving tool!

I have to say that this is the most beautiful and precise tool I have tried so far. I own three different models of Merkur and HD was my favorite until now. Edwin Jagger Classic leaves Merkur HD far behind. First of all the detail and the quality are top notch. But most importantly when I started to shave with it, it was so smooth that I thought that maybe I forgot to load the blade. Yet the head is definitely more aggressive than Merkur, in my experience. I was so impressed that I ordered a second razor ( DE.87), the heads are identical.

I used this razor for the first time today. It has a nice weight and is well balanced. I found it to be a little too non-aggressive for my coarse facial hair. I will try it with a few different blades and see if that improved the closeness of my shave. I was disappointed that it didn't have the Edwin Jagger engraving shown in the picture. Maybe my razor skipped that part of processing in the factory. Or maybe they have stopped engraving the Edwin Jagger name into the razors. In fact, the only way I know it's an Edwin Jagger is the box it came in. I hope it's not an imitation knock off.

This is a handsome razor and it has received good reviews both here and on Badger & Blade, but I must say I have had less than satisfactory results with it. I have found it to be more aggressive and unforgiving - I have had many nicks and cuts with it - than with my Merkur 38C Barber-Pole. The lined finish on the handle affords less of a grip than that on the 38C, but I think the handle length is the deciding factor here. I have larger hands and find the 10cm long 38C easier to handle and control. In my opinion the Edwin Jagger Classic is more suited to those with a small to average hand size.
