This is a great smelling soap. Its a very subtle sent but it has a certain complexity to it that's kind of alluring. The trick I found to working the lather is to treat it like you would wool fat soap. Soak it for a few mins in warm water in its bowl, soak the brush but squeeze out the access water and load it well then build the lather directly onto the skin adding water as necessary. It looks great in the black Edwin Jagger bowl and the logo is actually my favorite thing about it, it somehow remains after many uses. The lather isn't extremely cushion-y or fluffy like canned creams, I don't think its designed to be but it is velvety and works well. A classic shaving soap, not much better way to describe it

In the morning, I love to put my nose in the mug and just smell the soap. If you like the smell of sandalwood, it really a great soap. I don't used aftershave when I used it because the smell stay all day. However it not a strong smell , only the girlfriend notice it when she kiss me :). The soap give also a rich lather that stay on your skin long. I can put on the face and the head at the same time and I have time to shave it all before it start drying out.
