Relatively new to DE wetshaving. Have a Merkur 180 long handle. The Merkur is a nice razor but not once you use the Feather All-Stainless, it shaves close and at the same time is very gentle amazingly so. I have 2 residences so justified the 2nd razor purchase and was doubtful it would be any better. I'm now considering a 2nd Feather. Believe the hype - for once its true!!!

A very good razor. Represents a big investment but worth it. Smooth and close shaving!

I too, own a variety of razors and this one is in a class of its own. It's hard to describe the feel of this razor but it seems to bend the blades so perfectly that it offers a sharp yet incredibly smooth edge. I've been using it for a few days now and I really love shaving with it. It is so smooth that you would think it's not catching any hair, yet it leaves my face perfect and does not leave anything behind. Shaving under the nose is also much easier than all the other razors I've owned. I wouldn't go back to the bigger head model like my Merkur Futur. The adjustability has little added value when shaving against the grain with the AS-D2 leaves little to no irritation. I would say that the angle I must use to get a proper shave is unlike all my other razors, maybe close to the Futur when using a large opening. I would recommend it to anyone and the stand is well worth it because it offers a great stand when traveling, and it packs easy. Thanks Fendrihan for carrying the products we love.

The Feather AS-D2 is my go-to daily shaver, being fortunate to own and compare this razor to such others as iKon OSS and DLC Slant; ATT M-2. While somewhat of a mild-design it shines as the smoothest and most comfortable safety razor you'll probably ever use and makes a sharp blade like a Feather SS or a Personna Lab or Med it really comes alive with smoothness and sharpness combined. Take it from me, having a fast growing and course beard and sensitive facial skin, and owning some of the best brands, this is the razor I prefer and use the most. Also, the finish on my razor has held up remarkably, better than the iKon OSS 2013. The ABOVE THE TIE has a lot of character and would be a close second in over all shave quality and machining finish. ATT M-Series is more efficient but similar in feel and finish quality. The fit and finish on the Feather still exceeds that of iKon and ATT out of contention for top shelf. I would say the Pils or Tradere are most comparable to the AS-D2.

Simply put, the new Feather AS-D2 is an amazing razor. It performs even better than it looks. It is truly a marvellous razor and a work of art. Paired with a Feather blade it will meet every expectation you have for a razor of this caliber. Thanks to Fendrihan for being such a trustworthy and dedicated retailer of the best shaving products available. Descriptions of products and customer service are impeccable.

One has to wonder, what exactly can an expensive razor give me that a standard razor cannot? Simply put it's build quality, high standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail really makes this razor stand out. Before buying I read many reviews that say it is a mild shave and it is absolutely true for me, with proper technique you will not even notice you're shaving. On a quick note about blades, this razor was built to work extremely well with Feather blades, if you've tried them before and didn't like them try them in this razor. Never before have I ever had such an excellent shave, and this razor can be expected to last me a lifetime.

I have had this razor for 2 weeks. It has given me the smoothest shave I ever had. The weight of the razor glides over my skin without tugging. Worth the price. I would highly recommend this razor.

This feather razor, the 10th in my collection, is unfortunately the worst razor i have bought to date. Besides being the most expensive, it gives me the worst shave with the most irritation. The build quality is flawless but the shave leaves me very unsatisfied. I might try one more razor, the ikon oss, in hopes of finding the perfect shave, after which i will settle on my old faithful merkur progress as my main razor.
