I saw a razor that was almost identical at a Titanic exhibit. Neat!

I just got mine not too long ago (Merkur Classic 1904 Open-Comb), I'll say I have never had a shave that close before. In fact my face was not this smooth as a child. I love this razor. Even though I've been wet shaving for quite a long time, this razor fits perfect to my daily shaving set. Highly recommend it you will love it too. Besides all of said, disposable razors are very cheap, and it is built to last for ages. Thanks to the seller

This razor is the best DE I've tried thus far. I have a very thick beard and a very sensitive neck and this has provided a close, no cut shave. At first I found the handle a little short, but I've since gotten used to it and I now find the short handle comfortable and more precise. I recommend that everyone try an open comb style head...and at this price, you can't go wrong.

Totally agree with all the reviews. Very smooth shave (2 pass) and not agressive at all. Perfect for DE newbies. I highly recommend it.

Great starter razor and not very aggressive while giving a good a shave. This razor gave me the skills to use more aggressive razors.

A fine shaver, great retro style and wonderful finish make this a really nice addition or introduction to anyone\'s shaving cabinet. Shaves are neither to gentle or to aggressive but just right with the 1904, this would make a perfect first razor along with the Merkur HD.

The unique edges of this razor allow me the closest shave in the hardest parts I've ever had. It allows for a smooth shave at various angles with minimum irritation.

Just took delivery of this razor and I have to say I'm disappointed. It looks fantastic and has a nice weight and I thought I'd love the size (for manoeuvrability), but in actual use, two problems popped up. First, it's slippery in the hand, despite the hashmarked handle. Even more so when your hands are wet and there's soap around. But second, and most importantly - it does not provide a close shave. I had 3 days' growth when trying this today, and after repeated strokes, my face was still rough. I pulled out my old standby - a Edwin Jagger DE and it was shaving off a substantial amount left by this model. Upon closer examination, the blade is just too close to the open teeth on the blade head - almost no clearance, and the teeth are substantial enough that they block a lot of contact between the blade and your skin. It's a nice looking razor, but not really functional. I am investigating Fendrihan's return policy on this one.
