I have been using cartridge razors for around twenty years and found it hard to shave more than three or four days in a row due to razor burn. I was considering growing a beard. I have had this razor for a week and have shaved every day without any razor burn, irritation or nicks. This razor is truely amazing.

I've been a long time wet shaver (27+ years), cartridge for quick shaves for work and straight razors for the weekends. I was shopping for a new soap, and decided to pick up the 33C with a selection of blades. Used it for the last week with the Merkur blade. I found the 33C easy to handle and well balanced. Just heavy enough to do the job, light enough to handle quickly. I was not expecting it to get as close as it did. I was expecting cartridge close but the 33C with Merkur blade produced a close non irritating save that was very close to my straight razors but it half the time. Whether you are new to wet shaving or an old hand at it 33C is ideal. I may be bias (even my Boker King Cutter is a fraction of the weight of the 33C) but I see no need to go to the heavier 34C HD I prefer a little razor, it promotes a light touch with good technique and will not tolerate dull blades. Both DE razors have the same head, only the handles change the shave. I would recommend it to anyone new or old at wet shaving. I like the Merkur blade, but then again I haven't tried the others in the sampler yet.

This is my first safety razor. I was tired of giving buckets full of money to the name brand people. My 33C arrived in the mail today, and it was fantastic. I will never look back. I was looking at a few different brands on this site, most of which were designed around the Merker blades. I decided why buy a blade that was built "like" a Merker when I can buy the real thing. It might cost a few dollars more, but I'd much rather have something built in Germany than a knockoff from India or China. This is a great razor, I feel liberated.

I've been using this handle for about 6 months now - It's great! The one downside is how short it is! I have small hands and I still find it tiny. It has a good weight to it though and I guess I've adapted to the length. Great starter razor.

Excellent razor! I've been using mine for two and a half years now and it shows absolutely no wear. The razor gives me a nice close shave, and I haven't had any razor-burn at all. I would recommend getting a nice shaving cream and some moisturizing after-shave also.

I used this razor before "upgrading" to a Mekur HD and I found almost no difference between the two, at least not one that justifies the price difference.

I've been using this handle for about 6 months now - It's great! The one downside is how short it is! I have small hands and I still find it tiny. It has a good weight to it though and I guess I've adapted to the length. Great starter razor.
