Although I'm still new to the wet shaving scene, I had quite a successful shave using the Merkur blade. I've only used Astra before this, I didn't find it quite as comfortable as Merkur. Next test is to see how long it lasts after multiple shaves!

These work very well for me in the Merkur Futur Adjustable. The longevity is very good. I am unsure why some are reporting trouble but suspect there may be other variables at play.

got these in a sampler and have razor of the same brand. all i have to say is razor burn. my coarse and very heavy beard kills the edge on these after half a shave. i have used half the pack and i will not finish it. they hurt me so much. the blades that have worked out for me are the astra and feather being the best. so if these dont work out for you try astra or feather blades

I've spent a year or two now, testing various blades. I find that merkur blades provide hands down the best shave I have ever experienced. I get far less irritation with these blades than with feather or dovo blades; I get a much CLOSER shave than I ever did with wilkinson, astra, or derby

I was disappointed at first. After a week with a Feather blade in my razor, I tried the Merkur. The first few days I found I was leaving a lot of stubble behind. No real irritation, but just not as close as I expected. By mid week I found my problem, the blade is a bit more aggressive so I just changed my angle of attack by rolling back a bit on the top of the cutter head. The result was as different as night and day. Very close, smooth and comfortable. They feel like they could last almost another week. Perhaps because I was not using them very well this week. Giving the cost here, and the adjustment in technique, I'm more incline to go with the Dorco ST-301 as daily shavers. Sure you will go through twice as many blades compared to the Merkur, but the cost can not be overlooked. If these were in the $7.95 range, they would be my Go to Blade hands down.

I used those blade several time with a 34 hd and they give a good shaving, especially for the head. Also they last long and I didn't nick and cut myself once with them. On the face, they are good, but for half the price the precision will give better result and same longevity then the Merkur.

I really like this blade. After about a month and a ½ of staying away with the one that came with my 34c HD, I decided to give this one a try. Whether it's an improvement in my technique or my lather...this blade was simply fantastic. 2 passes. 1 with the grain and one against, and my face was baby-butt smooth. Again, each person is different, but this blade has my vote.

I have been 2x blade savings for maybe 3 months, when I tried these blades a few months ago I cut myself. Tried again and seen to save very nicely as close as it gets - seems I got a bit better at this. The shave is almost as close as with the feather but I cut myself badly with feathers. Maybe in a few months my skill will increase and I will try feathers again but for now these are the best for me.

It's amazing how 10 guys will pick 10 different razor blades as the best! For me, Merkur's deliver AWESOME shaves, super-smooth, with no irritation AT ALL. And last for 5 or 6 shaves easy. Wilkinson's run a close second. Derby's kill me, as do some others that everyone seems to love. All you can do is try them... if they work for you like they do for me, the extra money is a pittance. Figuring out what blades work for you is half the fun!

These are the best. I am surprised that so many people prefer Feathers to these Merkurs. Having bought the sampler pack from Fendrihan that includes Derbys, Merkurs, Feathers and Wilkinson Swords, the only ones that provide a close, comfortable shave without the razor burn are the Merkur and Wilkinson blades. Perhaps their performance is relative to the razor you use. I have a DOVO Shavette straight razor. Perhaps some of these other brands are better served with other kinds of razors.

I received a sample blade with my Merkur razor, along with Fendrihan sample pack. The Merkur came with the best result, little to no cuts. I have a very thick facial hair, and sensitive skin, the other blades just resulted in more cuts, like a teenager starting to shave.

I am a new DE wet shaver, but am not new to wet shaving. Compared to Astra blades (no cuts or bleeding), the one Merkur blade I tried (included with my 38C) was rough on my face. I won't be trying them again.

These blade get bad reviews because, I believe, every new Merkur razor has some free samples of these included with. Lets face it, most new DE wat shavers will have problems no matter what is their first blade, including myself. I revisted these just recently, not that I'm an accomplished DE shaver, and theey are good. Not as sharp, but smooth and forgiving. Merkur will always be Merkur. Remember, lather and its proper use is the most important component.

I got the sampler pack from Fendrihan and must say these are the sharpest of them (I got Derby, Feather, Astra and Merkur). Closest shave I have had, but the blades are really rough and not smooth on the face. These are not for the faint of heart and if you're a rookie I would not recommend using these as your first blade. If you've got sensitive skin like me, your definitely in for some razor burn. But it is really sharp and makes for a great shave, but for me, not worth the extra money. Derbys are still my favourites.

These were the first blades I ever bought. I almost quite shaving with my newly acquired double-edge razor because I thought this was as good as it was going to get. Then I tried other blades and realized the benefits everyone was talking about. They last a while...maybe 5-6 shaves. But they never seem sharp enough. I get a lot of pulling rather than shaving, especially around my mouth and chin. They were OK for my head.

I suppose I can say that they last a while, but what\'s the point? They don\'t seem at all sharp compared to most other brands I\'ve tried. They certainly don\'t justify their cost.

Although I'm still new to the wet shaving scene, I had quite a successful shave using the Merkur blade. I've only used Astra before this, I didn't find it quite as comfortable as Merkur. Next test is to see how long it lasts after multiple shaves!

I received a sample blade with my Merkur razor, along with Fendrihan sample pack. The Merkur came with the best result, little to no cuts. I have a very thick facial hair, and sensitive skin, the other blades just resulted in more cuts, like a teenager starting to shave.

I've spent a year or two now, testing various blades. I find that merkur blades provide hands down the best shave I have ever experienced. I get far less irritation with these blades than with feather or dovo blades; I get a much CLOSER shave than I ever did with wilkinson, astra, or derby

Wilkinson's run a close second. Derby's kill me, as do some others that everyone seems to love. All you can do is try them... if they work for you like they do for me, the extra money is a pittance. Figuring out what blades work for you is half the fun!

Got these in a sampler package. I have a fairly light beard, and after one attempt, just threw the blade away. Doesn't work for me. Astra or Feather are the way to go for me.

Derbys are still my favourites.

over price that's for sure... they do last longer then most other blades however and are most forgiving I have found still for the money not worth it...

I would agree on the fact that they are not as sharp as many other brands on this site. I find them on par with Wilkinson, which frankly I really did not care for. Merkur does make nice razors, but the blades I would pass.

I suppose I can say that they last a while, but what\'s the point? They don\'t seem at all sharp compared to most other brands I\'ve tried. They certainly don\'t justify their cost.

They were OK for my head.

got these in a sampler and have razor of the same brand. all i have to say is razor burn. my coarse and very heavy beard kills the edge on these after half a shave. i have used half the pack and i will not finish it. they hurt me so much. the blades that have worked out for me are the astra and feather being the best. so if these dont work out for you try astra or feather blades
