My dad passed down his old Gillette razor from the 70's and I have been using it for years. But it was starting to show its age and thought I it would be a good time to upgrade. After just one shave I can safely say that the Gillette is going into storage to be passed down to my son. The Parker has perfect length and weight. It feels very natural sitting in my hand, having only to make a small adjustment to my shaving style. The TTO design works well and the look of the razor is sharp.

This razor is well built, and an extremely smooth shaver. I would buy it again.. I use it every day..it is my favorite shaver. I like the TTO design, but most importantly the razors weight and balance are fabulous. The shave is so smooth sometimes I question if I actually have a blade in the razor! This is the best TTO ever made.

I bought the Weishi for my first DE and after 5 shaves decided enough was enough. After doing some internet research I decided on this razor - the Parker 82R. Wow what a difference! The 82R is quite heavy but I like that as you just let the razor do the work and one simply has to guide it over your face. I can get an extremely good shave in two with the grain passes using the 82R. The handle has a nice texture and I have not had it slip even with wet and soapy hands. The butterfly mechanism works flawlessly and hold the blade nice and tight. I highly recommend this razor!

This is an excellent razor. It is very well made and it gives a very good shave. The lined handle makes the razor easy to grip, and the razor is very heavy, thus allowing you to apply very little pressure during the shave -- the razor just sort of glides over your face but still shaves very close. The twist-to-open mechanism makes blade changing extremely easy. Considering the price of the razor, this is an excellent value.

This saftey razor is a not bad razor I get a fairly smooth shave out of it, although you would save yourself a lot of money if you purchased the weishi gunnmetal finish razor that razor is supprisingly a better razor then the parker 82R.

My first impression when I got this razor was that it was a cheap razor. Machining scratches and just a general poor polish and finish. In my case the butterfly mechanism jams intermittently. Having said all that... it does give a good close shave, closer than the Weishi. It is much more aggressive than the Weishi. It is also quite a bit heavier and longer. Oh ya, I almost forgot. Again on the plus side, this razor has the best, easiest to grip shape handle I have used.

The Parker 82R razor is a BIG disappointment. I was perfectly happy with my Merkur 38C, but wanted to try a TTO for nostalgic reasons related to my use of a Gillette Adjustable TTO in my youth. I thoughtlessly tossed the perfectly good Gillette to embrace the first of many so-called advanced designs of Gillette and Schick safety razors. My face is reasonably smooth for my age, but after about 10 shaves with the Parker, I find that it's much too aggressive. It typically leaves me with razor burn, nicks, or serious cuts, which I don't get with the Merkur. These two razors look and feel somewhat alike, but they are as different as night and day. I'll gladly stick with the Merkur as my go-to razor and will also hang on to the Parker, but it will stay in my bathroom cabinet drawer except when I remove it now and then to take an admiring look at a great TTO design that was poorly implemented. The problem seems to be a bad head design that allows too much blade contact with the face. There really is a difference between safety razors. Sometimes that difference can mean the difference between a good shave and a surgical procedure!
