I've used this soap for the past 4 months and really love it. It lathers in seconds, builds a good-size foam, doesn't dry quickly, and has a nice refreshing feel to it. I've also used Edwin Jagger Natural Shaving Soap and Col. Conk Almond Shaving Soap but found those take considerably longer to lather and dry quicker than Proraso. So, this one is definitely a keeper. Bonus points for the handy packaging - the plastic round box is easy to hold, store, and travel with.

Personally I'm not sure why this one is so popular? I absolutely love their after shave splash and cream but I find that the shave cream does not lather at all. I also find that if it's a tad too thick it clogs my razor and has zero glide. Just not my thing I guess.

Please ignore my previous review of the new formula Proraso; I rated it a 3. It's just as great as the original. My previous review mentioned the scent being off and not lathering as well. I think the issue was I ordered it with a new brush that was a bit musky and may have tainted the soap. I took the soap to work and used with one of my older brushed and it started smelling the same great way and lathering extremely well. I do find I'm burning through it quickly though. Still a definite standard.

Loved the original but only like the new formula. Preforms the same but the scent is somewhat not as clean I also feel it takes more effort to get a good lather. I'll be looking for a replacement but for now it does the job well enough.

All my soap reviews are based on performance with straight razor shaving. Proraso is the first soap I used when I started wet shaving. As others have mentioned, it has a strong menthol smell and leaves your skin feeling very cool. I wasn’t crazy about the smell at first, but quickly grew attached to it and I always enjoyed the cooling feel. The lather was easy enough to come by but never seemed to get really tall. However, it didn’t have a problem holding the moisture to the end of the shave. Proraso didn’t seem as slick as the Edwin Jagger, but also didn’t dry out as fast on your face. I got about 4 months of use out of this soap. I grew so attached to Proraso’s smell, that it is now one of the three soaps in my rotation.

My first soap, so nothing to compare it to yet, but it definitely works great! Nice scent, excellent lather, and great value. Shave daily, been working on the same tub for 3 months, and I'm barely a third of the way down. Will always keep this in my cupboard, even if I find others I like!

Porasso has been around a long time and has been a popular brand for good reason. It is one of the best, especially in its price range. All Poraso shaving soaps and creams are one of my recommendations to a newbie and to any who wants an affordable everyday shaving soap. It is a classic and has been used in Italy and many other European countries since grandpa days. It a product that so right and only begins to lose out to other soaps that cost 1 ½ - 2 times more. This shaving soap is in my shaving soap rotation.

I just received my order two days ago, and I thought I'd share my thoughts on this product. I'm new to wet shaving, and since I had to finish the aerosol can shaving foam (from Gillette), I held off on buying shaving soap. Long story short, the aerosol can just finished last week so I bought this! Speaking as a newb to straight razor shaving, I decided to do some research before buying and Proraso came highly recommended (and I can see why). I found this to be very easy to lather up. It has a nice fragrance to it; not too over powering. The most noticeable difference was how it cooled my skin. The only down side to this shaving soap that I noticed was that it left my skin feeling a little dry afterwards. But anyways, I'd strongly recommend this shaving soap to anybody. This will definitely be a regular purchase for me.

This is a great shaving cream. I'm constantly impressed with how well and easily it lathers. It lathers great with a boar brush and even better with badger. It has a nice menthol-eucalyptus smell, somewhat reminiscent of Vick's or Halls lozenges. It's not my absolute favourite, but it certainly nice and cooling and the performance of the product is what makes it really shine.

Proraso soap was the very first shaving soap I bought and is still one of the easiet soaps to produce lather. Even a newb wet-shaver like me could do it. The menthol scent isn't for everyone but feels excellent in the hot summer months.

I have a heavy beard, so I have to shave twice a day. I stumbled upon Proraso shaving soap, and I am very glad I did. The eucalyptus scent is invigorating, and the lather is simply unctuous.

Kevin, I agree. Proraso has classic wet shaving dialed in. When I switched to the soap/cream from the Italians, my wife couldn't keep her hands off my face... and that's a good thing!

I love ProRaso products. The shaving cream, when used with a brush, is rich and provides fantastic protection. The nice part is that it rinses off really well as well, so you do not feel like you have a film of soap after. Once a week, I use the pre-shave cream, and apply the shaving cream on top of it. Yoru face will tingle for an hour. And my wife thinks I smell like a distinguished Italian aristocrat after!

I've used this soap for the past 4 months and really love it. It lathers in seconds, builds a good-size foam, doesn't dry quickly, and has a nice refreshing feel to it. I've also used Edwin Jagger Natural Shaving Soap and Col. Conk Almond Shaving Soap but found those take considerably longer to lather and dry quicker than Proraso. So, this one is definitely a keeper. Bonus points for the handy packaging - the plastic round box is easy to hold, store, and travel with.

Please ignore my previous review of the new formula Proraso; I rated it a 3. It's just as great as the original. My previous review mentioned the scent being off and not lathering as well. I think the issue was I ordered it with a new brush that was a bit musky and may have tainted the soap. I took the soap to work and used with one of my older brushed and it started smelling the same great way and lathering extremely well. I do find I'm burning through it quickly though. Still a definite standard.

All my soap reviews are based on performance with straight razor shaving. Proraso is the first soap I used when I started wet shaving. As others have mentioned, it has a strong menthol smell and leaves your skin feeling very cool. I wasn’t crazy about the smell at first, but quickly grew attached to it and I always enjoyed the cooling feel. The lather was easy enough to come by but never seemed to get really tall. However, it didn’t have a problem holding the moisture to the end of the shave. Proraso didn’t seem as slick as the Edwin Jagger, but also didn’t dry out as fast on your face. I got about 4 months of use out of this soap. I grew so attached to Proraso’s smell, that it is now one of the three soaps in my rotation.

My first soap, so nothing to compare it to yet, but it definitely works great! Nice scent, excellent lather, and great value. Shave daily, been working on the same tub for 3 months, and I'm barely a third of the way down. Will always keep this in my cupboard, even if I find others I like!

Porasso has been around a long time and has been a popular brand for good reason. It is one of the best, especially in its price range. All Poraso shaving soaps and creams are one of my recommendations to a newbie and to any who wants an affordable everyday shaving soap. It is a classic and has been used in Italy and many other European countries since grandpa days. It a product that so right and only begins to lose out to other soaps that cost 1 ½ - 2 times more. This shaving soap is in my shaving soap rotation.

This is a great shaving cream. I'm constantly impressed with how well and easily it lathers. It lathers great with a boar brush and even better with badger. It has a nice menthol-eucalyptus smell, somewhat reminiscent of Vick's or Halls lozenges. It's not my absolute favourite, but it certainly nice and cooling and the performance of the product is what makes it really shine.

Proraso soap was the very first shaving soap I bought and is still one of the easiet soaps to produce lather. Even a newb wet-shaver like me could do it. The menthol scent isn't for everyone but feels excellent in the hot summer months.

I have a heavy beard, so I have to shave twice a day. I stumbled upon Proraso shaving soap, and I am very glad I did. The eucalyptus scent is invigorating, and the lather is simply unctuous.

Kevin, I agree. Proraso has classic wet shaving dialed in. When I switched to the soap/cream from the Italians, my wife couldn't keep her hands off my face... and that's a good thing!

I love ProRaso products. The shaving cream, when used with a brush, is rich and provides fantastic protection. The nice part is that it rinses off really well as well, so you do not feel like you have a film of soap after. Once a week, I use the pre-shave cream, and apply the shaving cream on top of it. Yoru face will tingle for an hour. And my wife thinks I smell like a distinguished Italian aristocrat after!

I just received my order two days ago, and I thought I'd share my thoughts on this product. I'm new to wet shaving, and since I had to finish the aerosol can shaving foam (from Gillette), I held off on buying shaving soap. Long story short, the aerosol can just finished last week so I bought this! Speaking as a newb to straight razor shaving, I decided to do some research before buying and Proraso came highly recommended (and I can see why). I found this to be very easy to lather up. It has a nice fragrance to it; not too over powering. The most noticeable difference was how it cooled my skin. The only down side to this shaving soap that I noticed was that it left my skin feeling a little dry afterwards. But anyways, I'd strongly recommend this shaving soap to anybody. This will definitely be a regular purchase for me.

Loved the original but only like the new formula. Preforms the same but the scent is somewhat not as clean I also feel it takes more effort to get a good lather. I'll be looking for a replacement but for now it does the job well enough.

Personally I'm not sure why this one is so popular? I absolutely love their after shave splash and cream but I find that the shave cream does not lather at all. I also find that if it's a tad too thick it clogs my razor and has zero glide. Just not my thing I guess.

Porasso has been around a long time and has been a popular brand for good reason. It is one of the best, especially in its price range. All Poraso shaving soaps and creams are one of my recommendations to a newbie and to any who wants an affordable everyday shaving soap. It is a classic and has been used in Italy and many other European countries since grandpa days. It a product that so right and only begins to lose out to other soaps that cost 1 ½ - 2 times more. This shaving soap is in my shaving soap rotation.

I just received my order two days ago, and I thought I'd share my thoughts on this product. I'm new to wet shaving, and since I had to finish the aerosol can shaving foam (from Gillette), I held off on buying shaving soap. Long story short, the aerosol can just finished last week so I bought this! Speaking as a newb to straight razor shaving, I decided to do some research before buying and Proraso came highly recommended (and I can see why). I found this to be very easy to lather up. It has a nice fragrance to it; not too over powering. The most noticeable difference was how it cooled my skin. The only down side to this shaving soap that I noticed was that it left my skin feeling a little dry afterwards. But anyways, I'd strongly recommend this shaving soap to anybody. This will definitely be a regular purchase for me.

This is a great shaving cream. I'm constantly impressed with how well and easily it lathers. It lathers great with a boar brush and even better with badger. It has a nice menthol-eucalyptus smell, somewhat reminiscent of Vick's or Halls lozenges. It's not my absolute favourite, but it certainly nice and cooling and the performance of the product is what makes it really shine.

Proraso soap was the very first shaving soap I bought and is still one of the easiet soaps to produce lather. Even a newb wet-shaver like me could do it. The menthol scent isn't for everyone but feels excellent in the hot summer months.

I have a heavy beard, so I have to shave twice a day. I stumbled upon Proraso shaving soap, and I am very glad I did. The eucalyptus scent is invigorating, and the lather is simply unctuous.

Kevin, I agree. Proraso has classic wet shaving dialed in. When I switched to the soap/cream from the Italians, my wife couldn't keep her hands off my face... and that's a good thing!

I love ProRaso products. The shaving cream, when used with a brush, is rich and provides fantastic protection. The nice part is that it rinses off really well as well, so you do not feel like you have a film of soap after. Once a week, I use the pre-shave cream, and apply the shaving cream on top of it. Yoru face will tingle for an hour. And my wife thinks I smell like a distinguished Italian aristocrat after!

Loved the original but only like the new formula. Preforms the same but the scent is somewhat not as clean I also feel it takes more effort to get a good lather. I'll be looking for a replacement but for now it does the job well enough.

I've used this soap for the past 4 months and really love it. It lathers in seconds, builds a good-size foam, doesn't dry quickly, and has a nice refreshing feel to it. I've also used Edwin Jagger Natural Shaving Soap and Col. Conk Almond Shaving Soap but found those take considerably longer to lather and dry quicker than Proraso. So, this one is definitely a keeper. Bonus points for the handy packaging - the plastic round box is easy to hold, store, and travel with.

Personally I'm not sure why this one is so popular? I absolutely love their after shave splash and cream but I find that the shave cream does not lather at all. I also find that if it's a tad too thick it clogs my razor and has zero glide. Just not my thing I guess.

Please ignore my previous review of the new formula Proraso; I rated it a 3. It's just as great as the original. My previous review mentioned the scent being off and not lathering as well. I think the issue was I ordered it with a new brush that was a bit musky and may have tainted the soap. I took the soap to work and used with one of my older brushed and it started smelling the same great way and lathering extremely well. I do find I'm burning through it quickly though. Still a definite standard.

All my soap reviews are based on performance with straight razor shaving. Proraso is the first soap I used when I started wet shaving. As others have mentioned, it has a strong menthol smell and leaves your skin feeling very cool. I wasn’t crazy about the smell at first, but quickly grew attached to it and I always enjoyed the cooling feel. The lather was easy enough to come by but never seemed to get really tall. However, it didn’t have a problem holding the moisture to the end of the shave. Proraso didn’t seem as slick as the Edwin Jagger, but also didn’t dry out as fast on your face. I got about 4 months of use out of this soap. I grew so attached to Proraso’s smell, that it is now one of the three soaps in my rotation.

Love this stuff. I've been hooked on it for years. Lathers great, and one bowl lasts forever. Works for an amazing shave when combined with an alum block

My first soap, so nothing to compare it to yet, but it definitely works great! Nice scent, excellent lather, and great value. Shave daily, been working on the same tub for 3 months, and I'm barely a third of the way down. Will always keep this in my cupboard, even if I find others I like!
