The Semogue 1305 Shaving Brush features a beautiful tri-color wood handle with a timeless design. The brush is filled with natural boar bristles of superior quality. Superior boar bristles, with their added stiffness, exfoliate the skin and contribute to make a perfect brush for those that like a scrubby feeling with their shave (though the bristles will soften with time and usage). All Semogue brushes feature a metal ring as a hallmark of uncompromising quality; the ring is there as an added measure to hold the bristles in place snugly.

Semogue is a family operated business with a tradition of brush-making passed on from father to son for generations. The brush master is at the head of the business and ensures that the highest standards are upheld in the brush-making process.

When I purchased this brush I used it with Proraso, and Col.Conk soaps it lathered well with the soft soap Proraso enough for two, to three passes, although with Col.Conk hard soap it didnt lather that great I got one pass from it, and two weeks of using the hard soap it used up most of it. Although if you use it with soft soaps like Proraso it lathers great, also I have been using it for a month now, and it still has not broke in yet.

I bought two 1305 Semogue while visiting Spain this summer. One for myself and one for my father. This brush looks and feels amazing. I recommend using this with soap only as it will give better results. You do need to use it a few times (maybe 10) before it will "break in". Once broken in, it will feel SMOOTH on your face. This brush has been reviewed by many wet shavers and it is THE best quality boar brush. It has shed only two hairs in over 2 months. 5/5 stars for quality, price, craftsmanship and bristle density. With proper care, it will last you 15 to 20 years if not more.
