The Thiers Issard 5/8" Surgical Straight Razor is of spartan design and beautiful simplicity. Its blade has a special architecture similar to that of wedge-type blades, and is modeled for use in a "microtome", an instrument designed to make extremely precise cuts or slices for microscopic observation. The result is a top-of-the-line, precision shaving instrument.
Each razor comes in a protective black leather case (please see extra pictures below), a $12 value. Black handle.

I received my TI Historical Surgical razor on the date scheduled for delivery which is a plus. I used it the next morning instead of my Dovo Special and found this TI to be far superior right out of the box after one minimal stropping. I'm still new to wet shaving but this was by far my most enjoyable experience using a straightrazor and TI will be my forerunner on any future purchases.
