I used to watch my grandfather shave with his safety razor when I was little, and I've always wanted one of my own. I was happy to find such great reviews for such a cheap razor. Once I received it and did my first shave I realized this razor is inexpensive, but in no way cheap. I've never had such a comfortable shave experience, and that's what shaving is now, an experience, versus a razor burn ordeal with my Mach III, which now has a date with the trash bin. I now look forward to hot shave soap, a smooth shave, and a nostalgic journey back to my childhood every time I shave. And then great kisses from my wife.

I've been keeping a beard for years partly because I didn't enjoy shaving, it was irritating and can become costly when you consider the price of disposable razors and the environmental impact. I decided to give DE razors a try after reading about them. This Weishi razor was a great choice for me. The shave is mild and easy and the razor was cheap enough so that if I didn't enjoy using DE razors, well then I wouldn't have lost much except $20. For the first time in my life I'm excited about shaving. 5 Stars on the basis that this razor is an excellent value and the included blades get you off to a good start.

I haven't used a Double-edge safety razor since 1960 (military). The costs of replacement blades for Quattro razor is about $2.50 per blade (Cdn). I just received the Weishi classic Razor and Derby blades. The very first shave was wonderful. No drag like on the four blade razor. Excellent choice.

Very happy with my new Weishi razor. This is my first double-edge razor and after the first couple of shaves learning how to use it - I am now getting a close, easy shave. Great value for the money.

I decided to go back to DE razors because I was getting tired with all this multiple blade nonsense. I've got a couple of DE razors and have just tried the Weishi based on the reviews on this site. I agree that this is a very mild razor; it has a decent wieght and for a butterfly design it has solid blade alignment. It's a good shave, and for the price is an excellent value. There's a case with a mirror, so it's great for travel too. Not the most exciting design or finish, but worth owning. Highly recommended.

After a long hiatus, I returned to my DE razor recently. This is a great starter razor for the price. This is a very "mild" razor - and for those of you considering a DE razor this is a great place to start. Yet in spite of the relative mildness - you'll still get a better, closer more comfortable shave then with a Gillette Mach 3/5. This is a wise choice if you're considering changing to a DE razor. Just match this with a nice blade, brush and shave cream/soap and you'll never look back.

I wanted an inexpenisve travel razor so i ordered the weishi This razor is mildest one i have ever owned. It would be great starter razor, you can practice your strokes and angles without being too worried getting nicked. The trick is to have the correct angle and let the weight do the rest.

Excellent value for the money. A good, forgiving razor to start with, and develop your technique. I\'m very pleased with my Weishi.

This was my first DE razor and it has been a great introduction to the form. Good build quality and performance for the price. I'm very satisfied, but am also tempted to try something a little better too.

Wow. First DE for me, and so what do I know, but two days of shaving and no cuts, and a wonderful shave. Great starter.

I bought this razor to go into my travel kit. I am not disappointed. I used it today for the first time. It comes in a great case with a small mirror inside and a place for blades (it comes with its own package of five). While not as sophisticated as my Edwin Jagger, it is still a very good razor. Nice weight, good feel in the hand. Moreover the price cannot be beat. I saw this identical razor on Saturday at a barber's shop for $39.00. Fendrihan.com offers wonderful service and very fair prices.

I wanted an inexpensive double-edged razor to see if I enjoyed the experience. While the Weishi has a nice length and good heft, the finish and detailing are pretty plain. At less than fifteen dollars(!), it's a fantastic buy for those who want to check out traditional shaving without breaking the bank.

Since I switched from a Mach 3 to the Weishi two months ago I've had a consistently better shave. However, it's still a very mild razor so my razor burn hasn't subsided completely. (yet still far less burn then the mach3). I don't regret buying the Weishi but if I had my time back I would have spent the extra 20 bucks on something a little more aggressive.

My first de razor. I thought it was great until I picked up a 40's super speed. After using the ss this is hard to shave with. But it does shave alright for the low cost

Good value for the money but can't hold a candle to Merkur or EJ or Goodfella. If you just want to try out the wetshaving experience and don't have a lot of cash, then this is the one to try.

Nice razor for beginners, but it just doesn't work with my beard, no matter how many passes I do. Tried it with different blades, with same result.

Too mild to begin with, altering the angle can easily cause cuts. After about 1 year of use I need pliers to open it up. Came back to get a Merkur or another quality brand. If you want to experience "false economy" for yourself like I did, then get this one.
