The Weishi Gold Plated Classic Double-Edge Razor is a mild shaver, highly recommended for new wet-shaving enthusiasts. It has a straight guard for a close shave with less irritation. Beautiful, mirror-smooth gold-plated finish. It uses any modern double-edge blade.
Very nice feel and heft. It weights 68 grams, which is 16 grams more that the regular Merkur Classic safety razor.

An unbelievable value. Cheap razor, solid butterfly opening mechanism, close shave but not super aggressive - I recommend it unreservedly for anyone new to DE shaving. I started with straight razors and then moved to DE - with 3 passes (with, across, and against the grain) I am able to get every bit as smooth a shave as with a straight blade. Not adjustable, and certainly not as sturdy as the more expensive units - buy one to start, get comfortable with DE shaving, and then upgrade to fancier units once you can appreciate and actually make use of the difference.
