A truly unique writing instrument, named after Conrad Gessner who was not only a botanist, zoologist, physician and linguist, but among the first to note the pencil. Using his sketches and descriptions from 1565, Cleo Skribent created a version to honour Gessner. The pencil’s shaft is crafted from a single piece of wood and features a stylish finial end, likened to a chess piece. Lead is held in place by a wooden shim that’s easily removed for quick lead changes. Comes with a jute pouch to conveniently store both the pencil and lead supplies.
After WWII, founders of Cleo Skribent began producing writing instruments using their skills and knowledge of craftsmanship, inspired by the methods used by the ancient Egyptians. As a result, they named their first line Cleopatra. Years later the Skribent ink line was released. Today, Cleo Skribent is known worldwide and continues its entire production exclusively in Germany.
