The Features Of A Safety Razor

Safety razors, also known as double edged or DE razors, are easily reloaded with fresh blades. Depending on a particular razor's design the head of the razor can reveal the blade for changing in one of three ways described on the following graph.

The heads of safety razors generally are know as open comb or closed comb. The open comb lifts and straightens the hairs for a close shave while the closed comb offers protection with a bar in front of the edge. Illustrations of the two general types are shown below.
