This was my first safety razor, and I have been using it for just over a year. For anyone wanting to give wet shaving a try, this is a great option. It is easy to load with a blade, and its a quality product. I would like to upgrade to a fancier razor, but really have no reason to. I pair it with an Astra blade (green box).
I bought this razor today and, first impression, was very surprised by how small the razor is compared to the Mach 3 I've been using until now, the handle isn't as long as my hand is wide. Not easy to hold. If I'd known how small it was going to be I'd have bought a larger razor.
For the price, this is a nice stepping stone into the DE shaving world. It's very unaggressive and lightweight, so you won't have to worry about cutting/nicking yourself. Unfortunately, it's unaggressive design and light weight will probably prevent you from getting a great shave. You'll have to do more passes than with other razors and use too much pressure. At the very least, it's good to learn on and you can throw it in a dopp kit for travel. Just not what I'd want in a daily razor.
First DE razor I've ever used. I got the multipack of blades too. Honestly it was a painful process finding the right blade. However the daily ritual now is great. Really good razor, Weishi makes a good product
Since I switched from a Mach 3 to the Weishi two months ago I've had a consistently better shave. However, it's still a very mild razor so my razor burn hasn't subsided completely. (yet still far less burn then the mach3). I don't regret buying the Weishi but if I had my time back I would have spent the extra 20 bucks on something a little more aggressive.
