Astra Superior Platinum's gave me the best shave with out cutting myself and barely no irritation I'm very satisfied with these blades. Feather yellow are way to sharp for my skin its cause to much irritation for me, you have to use light pressure with feather blades. I find with me that Astra Superior Platinum's are provide an excellent shave even after the first pass.
Used this blade in both a Merkur and Muhle razors and I've found, that for my beard, this blade is definitely not the blade for me. So far, it's one of the worst blades I've tried.
Someone on here earlier mentioned in his opinion that blades are designed as to the cultural stereotype of their country of origin. (Not sure if that makes sense but I'm sticking to it!) For example, Eastern Europe...thick hair like steel wool, England...not so thick hair. I still have some samples to work through, and more of these Astras to work though, but they do a pretty good job in dealing with my mutt Irish, Hungarian, German steel wool beard. My face is sensitive to begin with and I find that I don't get the slightest bit of irritation, and only the usual amount of burn that I would get from any other shaving implement. You also can't go wrong at 17 odd cents per blade!
Not a bad blade at all. They work 'okay' for me personally, but I'm still debating on whether or not to buy these in the near future. I might buy more samples to give them a fair chance. So far, not too shabby at all. If you have a thick beard with sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend these at all. I feel these are more geared towards gentlemen with average beard growth. They're not the sharpest blade IMO, but they certainly are smooth. Give them a try in a sampler pack first before the go a head to buy a pack to 100 blades.
Not a great blade for thicker hair. Always seemed to pull and was generally rough on the skin.
