I don't know for a fact that Fatip makes the heads for Joris, but if you take a close look you will see quite a bit of difference between Fatip and Joris heads. The shave too has a different feel, the Joris, in my opininion, being a touch more aggressive than the Fatip, and a lot more stylish...
This is a beautiful and well-crafted razor from a justly famous company. The head is palladium, an interesting semi-precious metal, which elevates the price. Functionally, it performs exactly like Italian Fatip razorssmall wonder because Fatip produces the heads for Joris. This razor is made in France only in the sense that it is assembled there and the handle materials may be French in origin or manufacture. Fatip razors are only a small fraction of the cost of this razor because their handles are much less luxurious, not finished in palladium, and have less brand recognition globally. One buys this razor for aesthetic and status reasons. The Joris gives a great shave, but one identical to a Fatip.
Artfully crafted and arguably gives one of the best open comb shaves one can have. Much lighter than the stainless steel high quality razors made in Tennessee, it allows for a more controlled application of pressure by the user. Many compare the feel similar to a FATIP that uses a similarly shaped head, but do to the finish out of the Joris plating the experience is world's apart. The Joris will simply float on the skin. A must for that special rotation.
